Cafe Interior Design • Abu Dhabi
IDA creates cafe and coffee shop interiors that connect brand experience with practical operations — from space planning and barista workflow to counter detailing, MEP coordination and commercial fit-out.
What We Do
Every decision is coordinated around the menu, equipment, customer journey and operating model — not only the appearance of the space.
Ergonomic service counters planned around equipment, storage, POS and customer collection.
Layouts that balance circulation, seating capacity, queues, accessibility and staff movement.
Layered task, decorative and accent lighting designed to support atmosphere and operations.
Integrated refrigerated displays and merchandising points designed for visibility and service flow.
Weather-conscious external seating concepts, lighting, planters and durable hospitality finishes.

Coffee Counter Planning
IDA develops the counter around the actual menu and equipment rather than treating it as a decorative object. Espresso machines, grinders, sinks, water filtration, refrigeration, ice machines, POS, pastry displays and collection points are considered as one coordinated workflow.
A well-planned counter reduces unnecessary movement, improves service speed and creates a stronger connection between the customer and barista.
Concept & Identity
The right design direction should come from the cafe's brand, menu, target customer, location and price positioning — not from a predetermined style. IDA develops materials, colours, lighting, furniture, graphics and spatial details as one coordinated visual identity.
The aim is to create a recognisable customer experience while keeping the space practical, durable and commercially appropriate for daily operation.

Design + Build
The design intent, technical services and construction requirements are coordinated from the beginning, reducing last-minute changes during fit-out.

Design Typologies
Different business models need different layouts. We develop the design around your operation rather than forcing every café into the same formula.
Product-led layouts with bakery displays, preparation visibility and comfortable dine-in seating.
Barista-focused spaces where brewing, product presentation and customer interaction drive the concept.
Compact grab-and-go concepts built around fast ordering, clear collection and efficient production.
Flexible seating, power access, lighting and acoustics designed for longer customer stays.
A hybrid model balancing café service with dining, kitchen requirements and a richer hospitality experience.
Repeatable design systems that preserve brand identity while adapting to different sites and landlords.
Efficient neighbourhood concepts combining coffee, light meals and relaxed all-day seating.
Terrace and walkway-side concepts using durable furniture, greenery and climate-conscious planning.

Experience coordinating commercial interiors with landlord, project and applicable authority requirements in Abu Dhabi.
Design intent, MEP interfaces and site execution can be coordinated within one agreed project scope.
Our Process
A coordinated sequence designed to keep commercial, design and technical decisions aligned.
We review your location, area, menu, equipment, customer profile, budget and opening target.
Customer flow, seating, barista workflow and the visual direction are developed together.
Key spaces, finishes, furniture, lighting and counters are visualized before execution.
Interior, joinery and relevant technical information are coordinated for site implementation.
Construction, services, finishes, joinery and specialist items are reviewed against the approved design and technical information.
Finishing quality, outstanding items and required corrections are reviewed before final project handover.
Before Design
The design should begin with the business model. Location, floor area, menu, equipment, seating target, budget and opening programme all influence the layout and fit-out requirements.
Technical Coordination
F&B interiors require coordination between the architectural layout, kitchen or preparation areas, MEP services, fire and life-safety requirements, and the landlord or authority requirements applicable to the specific project. IDA develops and coordinates the relevant design information within the agreed scope.
